Weltrend Announced Availability of a New Series of Highly Integrated BLDC Motor Controllers

Hsinchu, Taiwan, Weltrend Semiconductor (TWSE: 2436) today announced the release of the WT51FU16/WT51FU24 and WT51FM16/WT51FM24 BLDC motor controllers. As a result of highly integrated design, these chips make it possible to reduce customers’ total BOM cost and the size of PCB as well. Also, with built-in dual N-structure gate driver, the WT51FM16/WT51FM24 can help the cooling fan to achieve better heat dissipation efficiency further and therefore fit perfectly for server cooling fan related applications. |
The WT51FU16/WT51FU24 is an 8-bit CISC architecture BLDC motor controller. |
It has16K x 8 embedded flash, 512 x 8 SRAM, 12V to 5V LDO power management, comparators for motor commutation sensor-less BEMF detection, smart fan communication interface, in-fan programming functions and so on built-in. |
The WT51FU16/WT51FU24 can directly operate in 12V BLDC motor system without hall sensor. The WT51FU16 in a QFN16 package (4 mm x 4 mm) is suitable for single-phase BLDC motor application while the WT51FU24 in a QFN24 package (4 mm x 4 mm) is suitable for three-phase BLDC motor application. |
