Weltrend Passes ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Emission Verification

| Hsinchu, Taiwan, November 8, 2023 – Weltrend Semiconductor (TWSE: 2436) today announced that the Company passed ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gases Emission Verification. Weltrend is the first power management IC company and one of the very first fabless semiconductor companies in Taiwan to pass the verification. |
| Weltrend has always valued highly the importance of environment protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance. To comply with government’s policies, the Company established its ESG Working Group in 2022 in promoting its commitment to ESG related activities. The Company implemented “ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System” and passed TUV NORD’s verification in the same year in carrying out its social responsibility in environmental sustainability by reducing environmental impact through energy conservation as well as greenhouse gas emission reduction. |
| In support of Taiwan government’s goal toward “2050 Net-Zero Emissions”, Weltrend has started its greenhouse gas inventory and carbon reduction activities in 2023 by adopting ISO 14064-1:2018 as the standards to prepare the Company’s greenhouse gas inventory report. The Company investigated its direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions within the organization’s boundary of activities and passed TUV NORD’s verification in September this year in meeting the demand of customers’ and other interested parties’ needs of carbon emission information. |
