Weltrend Announces Availability of 48V BLDC Motor Controller Supporting Thermal Cooling for the Next Generation AI Servers

Hsinchu, Taiwan, March 25, 2025 – Weltrend Semiconductor Inc. (TWSE: 2436; hereinafter “Weltrend”) today announced the release of the WT51FG24, a 48V Three-Phase Sensorless BLDC Motor Controller, supporting thermal cooling for the next generation AI servers as systems migrate to 48V from 12V for better efficiency.

The WT51FG24 is a 48V three-phase sensorless smart motor controller for BLDC motor applications such as fans or pumps. With integrated step-down voltage converter (buck and LDO), it can directly drive 48V, 54V, and up to 72V BLDC motors.

Sensorless (BEMF) technology is used to simplify motor system design, reduce cost, and increase reliability. The smart motor controller combines the sinusoidal (SVM) and 150° square driving capability to optimize the power efficiency, noise performance, startup, and forward/reverse windmill condition. I2C interface with read-out protected embedded memory can perform smart fan applications between motor system and host device. Built-in NN-type gate driver with configurable driving current (ISET) is used to perfectly match the external MOSFETs with fewer system components.

The WT51FG24 is available in green package QFN24 4 x 4, which is suitable for small form factor BLDC motor system design requirement.
