Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 4, 2022 – Weltrend Semiconductor (TWSE: 2436) today held a Board of Directors meeting and passed the appointments of several senior executives which include Tony Lin as the President, Robby Tsai as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), along with the promotion of two new vice presidents.

The newly appointed executives will take the roles effectively immediately. Tony will report directly to Chairman Sam Lin, who continues to serve as the CEO of the Company while Robby will report directly to Tony.

July5th is the Company’s 33rd anniversary since it was founded in 1989. The newly added executives represent a new and younger generation of the Company.

Tony has been with Weltrend since 2014 as the Executive Assistant to CEO serving leadership roles for various organizations including Marketing, Business Development, Application Engineering, Investor Relations, and some administrative functions such as Human Resources and MIS.

Prior to joining Weltrend, Tony was the Associate Analyst at Macquarie Capital Securities covering semiconductor industry, served as the Deputy Manager for Business Development at Global Unichip Corporation (GUC) for its European and Israeli markets, and worked at TSMC North America prior to his return to Taiwan. Tony holds a master’s degree in Operations Research from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Robby rejoins Weltrend in 2019, where he has worked for in early 2000s, and took on the role as Vice President of Marketing overlooking various functions within the Company including Product Marketing, Application Engineering, and R&D. He has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry which includes serving as Director of Video & Audio Application Division at MSar Semiconductor. Robby received both his master’s and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University.

Along with the appointments of the new President and COO, Weltrend also promoted Wayne Lo, formerly Senior Director of Product Marketing, and Vincent Lu, formerly Senior Director of R&D, as Vice President of Product Marketing and Vice President of R&D respectively.
