Weltrend Publishes the Company’s First Sustainability Report – Building a Greener Future and Long-Term Sustainability
Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 27, 2025 – Weltrend Semiconductor Inc. (TWSE: 2436; hereinafter “Weltrend”) today released its first-ever Sustainability Report, providing a comprehensive overview of the Company’s 2024 efforts and measurable outcomes in the areas of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). The report outlines the potential risks to business operations, the Company’s response strategies, and its long-term sustainability goals and action plans. It aims to offer transparency to stakeholders including the general public, investors, employees, customers, partners, and other interested parties about Weltrend’s sustainability planning and future direction.
The report was prepared in accordance with the GRI: 2021 Standards and SASB industry-specific standards, and follows the “Regulations Governing the Preparation and Filing of Sustainability Reports by TWSE and TPEx Listed Companies.” It addresses six key material topics identified through stakeholder engagement and outlines their respective management approaches including:
1. Ethical Governance
2. Product Quality and Safety
3. Information Security
4. Supply Chain Management
5. Greenhouse Gas Management and Carbon Reduction
6. Talent Attraction and Development
For each of these topics, the report details their significance, both positive and negative impacts, management goals, strategies, performance indicators, outcomes, and future plans.
Highlights of ESG Performance in 2024 include:
- Environmental (E):
In terms of greenhouse gas intensity, the company achieved a 13.64% reduction compared to 2023. Emissions per NT$1 million in revenue were 0.4477 metric tons CO2e in 2024, down from 0.5184 metric tons CO2e in 2023.
- Social (S):
Weltrend actively participated in and sponsored social welfare initiatives. For instance, the company supported the 2024 World Music Festival @ Taiwan – one of the largest outdoor world music events in Taiwan; and the Paper Windmill Foundation’s 2024 Children's Art Project, which was attended by over 60,650 parents and children.
- Governance (G):
Upholding ethical business practices, Weltrend conducted ongoing training and maintained robust information security protocols. In 2024, there were no incidents related to information security breaches, data privacy violations, or insider trading.
