Weltrend Semiconductor Collaborates with Cuzor Labs to Launch One of India's First Locally-Designed 70W Dual-Port GaN Chargers
Hsinchu, Taiwan – Sep. 1, 2025 — Weltrend Semiconductor Inc. (TWSE: 2436; hereinafter “Weltrend”), a global leader in power management integrated circuits, is pleased to announce its collaboration with Cuzor Labs, an emerging Indian consumer electronics startup, to develop and launch one of India's first indigenously designed dual-port GaN chargers.
At the core of this innovation is Weltrend’s WT6639F, a highly integrated dual-port USB Power Delivery (USB PD) controller. The WT6639F supports USB PD 3.0 with Programmable Power Supply (PPS) and Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 3+/4/4+/5 technologies. Its integration enables highly efficient power delivery and rapid charging in a compact form factor.
Key Features of the WT6639F:
- Dual USB PD PHYs: Enables simultaneous fast charging across two USB Type-C ports.
- Integrated VCONN Power and Switch: Supports E-marked cable detection for enhanced compatibility and safety.
- Wide Operating Voltage Range: Supports from 3V to 24V, ideal for varied power scenarios.
- Built-in 8-bit MCU with MTP ROM: Allows firmware customization and adaptability.
- Multi-Protocol Support: Compatible with a wide range of fast-charging standards for smartphones and laptops.
Product Highlights:
The co-developed 70W GaN charger features intelligent power sharing and is engineered to deliver a 45W and 25W power distribution — a configuration carefully designed to provide optimal performance for both laptops and smartphones simultaneously. This dual functionality ensures fast, efficient, and safe charging for multiple devices in a compact and travel-friendly design.
"Our partnership with Cuzor Labs underscores Weltrend’s commitment to enabling localized innovation using global-grade technology," said Franklin Chang, Senior Director of Business Development at Weltrend, servicing the India market. “With the WT6639F at its core, this charger sets a benchmark for performance, efficiency, and compactness in the Indian market.”
The charger is scheduled for market release in September, supporting India’s goal to scale domestic electronics design and manufacturing.
