WT7165

The WT7165 is a high performance multi-mode (CCM/Valley Switching) Flyback PWM controller. It is specifically designed to work with USB PD controller to provide a total solution for USB PD or a programmable power adapter. The WT7165 has a deep burst mode to reduce no-load power consumption. Working with Weltrend’s USB PD controller, the WT7165 can achieve no-load power consumption of less than 20mW on a 65W USB PD adapter when the USB-C cable is detached. The WT7165 also helps to improve the overall efficiency and optimize the product performance. It operates in Continuous Current Mode (CCM) during heavy load and operates in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) with valley switching during light load. The WT7165 minimizes the external components and is available in a SOP-8 package. It provides important protection features, such as Brown In/Out, AC_OVP, VDD OVP, OTP, OLP, OCP and Output Short Circuit Protection. Without an external LDO circuit, the WT7165 can easily provide 5V to 21V wide-range output voltage application to effectively reduce total BOM cost.
